Can Framis is one of many factories built in Poblenou at the end of the 18th century that earned the neighbourhood its nickname of the "Catalan Manchester". The factory, originally owned by the Framis family, gradually stopped being used and had been all but abandoned until the restoration of the 2000s and its grand opening in 2009 as the contemporary painting museum of the Vila Casas Foundation (FundaciГі Vila Casas).
The exposition includes works by Catalan artists from 1960s and onwards, about 300 works in total. The museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00, Sunday from 11:00 to 14:00. Closed on Mondays and all public holidays.
