The store with a barely pronounceable name, Kukuxumusu, originated in Pamplona, where T-shirts with cartoon characters and witty messages became so wildly popular as to warrant stores opening across Spain.
Despite not being native to Catalonia, Kukuxumusu does a great job catering to souvenirs' market in Barcelona: T-shirts with castellers, Barça players, Barça players as castellers even, Barça logos, “Barcelona” spelled out abound in the store. All prints are done in a signature Kukuxumusu style that features mainly drawn cartoon-style animals and people. Most of the merchandise is humourous with varying degrees of naughty. Apart from T-shirts, there are also ladies' shirts, dresses, pyjamas, toddler wear, stationery, mugs, key chains, magnets, even kitchen and bathroom accessories.
Prices for clothes start at around 20€, but key chains (most of them amusing to no end) go for as low as 2€. No matter what you decide to get, Kukuxumusu offers a great alternative to mundane touristy stuff - presents that would be much loved by kids and adults alike.
