Built in 1909-1911 by Р° practically unknown architect Salvador Valeri i Pupurull, Casa Comalat has two facades: one facing the Diagonal, the other overlooking carrer de CГІrsega, therefore creating a unique opportunity for the artist to execute two architectural plans in one. Valeri i Pupurull chose the Diagonal facade for the traditional at the time sumptuousness with adoptions from Rococo and ornamental motives. Carrer de CГІrsega, on the other hand, is intentionally neutral, but richly decorated with moulding, fantastic balconies and mosaics.
